Little did I know that the stories we would share, (with lots of laughter, wine and love) was not meant to be. Now back in Austin and missing her dearly. She was a great friend and an amazing woman. My condolences to Brian and to all whom Missy leaves behind. Although I taught in a different department in Deer Park, I had a chance to get to know her when we traveled together to a TSTA conference. She was a wonderful person. I am so sorry to learn of her passing.

Missy was the shining light and positive spirit in the room. Such a loving and beautiful person! I taught English with Missy in Deer Park and have missed her since she left many years ago. I am also a Baytown native, graduating from Ross Sterling in 1970.
Brian, know that my prayers & thoughts are with you. I understand your deep loss and grief. I lost my husband almost 5 years ago to colon cancer. One day at the time and keep looking up. Memories are forever!
