Not sure what to say?

To all Kathy's family and friends --
I was at Ursuline in the '60's and Kathy was two years ahead of me. I had not seen her since those long ago days, but we did correspond after she went to college. We were friends and I remember her (as so many have said here) as extremely smart, tough, and funny. I asked for a copy of her valedictory address, but I don't think she realized how wonderful it was, so she was unable to provide it. I can see the lasting effect she had on her students and...

I extend my deepest sympathies to Kathy's family.

I had Kathy as a teacher for four years in the early 80's. Kathy was a wonderful teacher and a great friend, and she will be sorely missed. Rest well.

I had Ms. Prins for three years of Latin at Cony, probably when she was just starting there ('76 - '78). She was a wonderful teacher and made learning fun. Even 30 years later, she still comes to mind, usually when I'm using the Latin she taught me to figure out the meaning of some unknown word. She will be greatly missed.

To Kathleen's family, I send my earnest prayer for you all. My sense of loss at her death is also great. As her teacher and friend, I have always held her in my heart and will continue to do so. I am sooo proud of her and the impact of her life on her students and friends. She carried very well the charism of St. Angela! As a fellow Latin teacher, I admire greatly her contributions to the classics and her passionate love for this ancient world!

Kathy was a wonderful teacher and a good friend. I worked with her for many years. She loved her animals and we would talk about our "furry friends" whenever we had a chance.

Wow - what unexpected news. I'm so sorry for your loss, and wish I could have been at the memorial service to express my condolences in person.

Reflecting back on high school, and my time after - I'm not sure I can think of any other teacher who had such a lasting influence over who I am, what I expected of myself, and how I treated others, than Kathy Prins. How could 4 years spent with her (in classroom, in JCL, on trips, after school - ugh, even sometimes with a detention) not make...

My condolences to Ms. Prins' family on this loss.

Ms. Prins was a wonderful example of the impact a dedicated teacher can make. I have fond memories of the Latin I class I took my senior year and the Latin Club activities. She was a firm but fair task master who had high expectations of her students, which pushed us all in positive ways. Her effectiveness as a teacher provided an educational foundation well beyond the study of Latin alone that serves me still.

We were all...

I has Ms.Prins as a teacher in cony high, and she was truely the most motivating teacher i had. She always pushed me to be the best that i could be. Thanks to her funny little talks, i still hear her voice in my head sometimes and all i can do is smile. She will be greatly missed, but i will always remember her.
