RIDDLEMOSER, Kathleen C. "Katie" - Of Grand Blanc, age 92, died Tuesday, January 11, 2005 at her residence. Funeral service will be held at 11AM Friday, January 14, 2005 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Pastor Dave Hintz officiating. Burial in Evergreen Cemetery. Those desiring may make contributions to Genesys Hospice Care or Genesee County Humane Society. Visitation 6-9PM Wednesday. 12-3 and 5-9PM Thursday and 10AM Friday until the time of the service at the funeral home. Katie was born in Flint, Michigan on October 9, 1912, the daughter of the late Robert and Mabel Wolcott. Katie and Don chose to live the majority of their life next door to her parents by the Wolcott Apple Orchard. In 1990 they moved to Grand Blanc. She devoted her entire life to her family and friends. Surviving are 3 children, Kay Lynn O'Malia and husband Don Fochtman, Susan and husband Dr. Greg Peacock, Richard and wife Kathie Riddlemoser; 2 grandsons, Jason Johnson and Derek Riddlemoser; 5 step-grandchildren, Kristi Benavides, Dr. Zachary Peacock, Elizabeth Peacock, Laura Fochtman and Nicholas Fochtman; 2 step-great-grandchildren, Olivia Popal and Paula "Pebbles" Benavides; brother-in-law, Richard Houghton; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald L. Riddlemoser; her parents; 4 sisters, Marchie Reavely, Virginia Clune, Betty Houghton and Jeanette Neelands; 2 brothers, Frank and Paul Wolcott. The family would like to extend their sincere thank you to Genesys Hospice, especially Peggy. We would also like to thank Katie's doctor, Dr. Randall Sturm and special caregivers, Gayle, Melissa, Sylvia, Brandy and Vivian

I was probably 6 or 7 years old, just after WWII, when I met Katie, Marchie, Paul and Virginia. My primary memories are of Uncle Bob and Aunt Mable. My father, Henry Basil Willsey, was Bob's first cousin and they were very good friends. They spent a lot of time together, especially in the early thirties.

My dad took me to the farm on several ocassions. Paul was running the cider mill and my dad, as a machinist, would often bring in repaired parts to keep the mill running. I...

My memories of our days together at the orchard will always be fond ones. Aunt Katie, Uncle Don and Hobbie live in these memories and always will. Our deepest sympathy to Kay Lynn, Susan and Dick.
