As I was looking to reconnect with Kathleen after being out of touch for several years, I was heartbroken to discover this page. Kathleen was a good friend and an amazing colleague (EMU) who was such an incredible role model/teacher for advocacy and for just being a kind person. A favorite memory for my family is the many times that we were invited to partake of the endless pool in her basement: who ever saw such a thing! I miss her and am so glad to have had her in my life. Kathleen and I met at church service. She sat in the row behind me. She saw me struggling to hold my shaky hymnal with Parkinson’s hands. She leaned forward and whispered in my ear, “Hi, handsome.” We became friends. Kathleen declared we were the real movers and shakers in the congregation. I enjoyed conversations with her. She replied to my every sentence with either an “Indeed” or an “I think you’re right” or a “Yes, and . . . .” I would give her rides to go swimming in Pickerel...
