Kathleen C. "Katy" Shoemaker

I just learned about this. Katy was my aunt through marriage, and I have fond memories of visiting her and my uncle Harry in NJ, including many family Thanksgivings. I'm so sorry to hear about her passing.

I got the opportunity to work with Katy at rehab. Lately, she wore her elegant signature scarf to keep her neck warm because the building was always a little cool. She showed up with her New Yorker magazine and read while she biked. She talked about her pet parrot, canning tomatoes & sharing recipes and pictures of beautifully landscaped gardens. I could feel the strength of her character. She was a joy to work with and will be missed.

So very sorry to hear about Katy. I was her Vice President with Master Gardeners and it was always a pleasure to work with her. She had a lovely home, so many interests and such love for her family. Talked about you and your Dad often.
