I was saddened to hear Kathy Thurmond passed away. Kathy was a strong school supporter and worked tirelessly to make student experiences better. Perhaps Kathy´s greatest accomplishment is the legacy she leaves through her outstanding children and grandchildren. Mike Miller

I had the pleasure of meeting Kathy and Joe both at church one Sunday and had found out that the three of us had one thing in common we were La Conner Alumni. Of course different years. But little did I know while attending school there I knew her sister who was the middle school principal at the time. Kathy was always a wonderful friend and lady full of wisdom. Always enjoyed my chats with her. Even when we were razing each other.

She was a wonderful care giver, and my daughters have recalled some of the fun activities Kathy would organize, like carnivals and birthday celebrations. Kathy was also very funny!! My sincere...
