Not sure what to say?

Dear Frank: I am so sorry to read about your mother. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Both my children were fortunate to have been participated in NFL during Mrs. V's tenure and benefited so much from what they learned under her tutelage. She taught them to have the self confidence to speak in public, to think on their feet, to pore over lots of information and discriminate between what was important and what was just fluff, and to have fun while they were doing it. Everyone I know who came in contact with her respected and liked her tremendously. She made an indelible mark in...

She was a wonderful woman, teacher and mentor. When I was home for Christmas, my mom made me go through all my old school papers. Among them I found an old speech evaluation sheet from Mrs. V. In her flowery script, she had written lots of encouraging comments and at the bottom, "I am pleased you will become an NFL member. It is so useful in the future". How true she was! Every time I have to do a presentation I am so grateful for my NFL experience. And I would never have joined NFL without...

Mrs. V played a significant role in my high school years. Although my oratory and drama skills were average, she gave me the opportunity to be president of the NFL my senior year. I appreciated that she believed in my leadership skills. She even gave me a trophy for being president, which meant a lot to me since I had not won any awards with my oratory skills. She was one of the key teachers/mentors that helped build my confidence. (Class of '91)

Mrs. V was one of the finest teachers among an excellent staff at Shrewsbury High. My brother and I both benefited tremendously from her kindness, knowledge and patience. I was in NFL for three years, and got some great experiences from it. Incidentally, Julian Chu and I visited her two years ago at her home around Christmas, and she played the piano and we sang songs and I was like, who knew she could sing and play piano?? On top of everything else?? What a talented woman! It's a great loss,...

"Mrs. V" was one of the most impactful teachers at SHS and someone who had a major positive influence in my high school experience. Our deepest condolences to her family at this time ... sentiments I'm sure are shared by a very large community of ex-SHS students around the country!

I just wanted to express my condolences on the loss of a wonderful, caring woman. I was a student of Mrs. V's on the SHS speech and debate team, and she always took the extra time to get the most out of her students and help them achieve what didn't always seem possible. Mrs. V really was the embodiment of the speech and debate program at SHS, but more importantly she was a great role model and an inspiration. She will be greatly missed.

On behalf of our staff, please accept this gesture as an expression of our heartfelt compassion and deepest sympathy.
