Not sure what to say?

Miss you still

I am so saddened by the loss of my dear friend. Kathy had such great enthusiasm for life and I was always happy to check out a new restaurant, walk through a garden or just shop the time away with her. I will miss you, my friend. My deepest sympathy to her family.

Kathy Bigley & I were fellow board members of The Recording Academy/NARAS during the 1990s. She was a passionate musical lightening rod for the needs of music-makers during our meetings & conferences; and a tremedous asset during special events. My sympathy to her family, however, please take comfort in knowing Kathy's beautiful alto voice is now singing with the heavenly chorale!

To the Bigley family , singing is truly a wonderful gift from God , may the many wonderful memories shared together , soon replace the sadness you now feel , and draw strength from God through paryer and one another.(2Corinthains 1:3-4).

Kathy's friendship and musical talent will be missed. I started singing with Kathy in 1985 and have sung with her in the William Ferris Chorale and the Michael Teolis Singers. She was a very dedicated singer and her musical knowledge was great.

The DePaul Community Chorus will miss this wonderful alto. She was a friend to many and her absence will be felt by all.

It must be significant that at our next concert we will be singing Mozart's Great Mass- a piece I believe she would have enjoyed singing.

Kathy and I met in the '60s at DePaul University Law School. There were very few women and she was the only legal secretary in the class. She went to night school and worked during the day at law firms. She had already been widowed and was a cancer survivor. She inspired us all. We thought, "If Kathy can do it we can too." Later she became a fine lawyer but found the stress of being a lawyer in domestic relations unending. So she began to work several days a week in a flower shop where...

Kathy was always singing with me - at Grant Park, in Ferris Chorale and with Mike Teolis. It will be strange to not see her sitting in the also section. My deep condolences.
