Kathryn (Kathy) Suzanne Burke, 53, of Lemont, passed away peacefully on August 15th, 2021 surrounded by her beloved family.


Kathy was born in LaGrange, IL to Gerald and Mary Panzer on December 12th, 1967, the second of five children.  She married the love of her life, Roger Burke, on November 10th, 1989 in Lemont IL.  She worked as an administration assistant for Nardi & Company for Ten years until she had her first child, Michael. Later, she worked as the administrative assistant to the CEO at Timberline Knolls in Lemont where she formed friendships she will cherish forever. To know Kathy was to love her, she will be remembered for the beaming smile you could pick out in any crowd & the imprint she left on so many hearts.



Kathy is preceded in death by her grandparents, Joseph & Francis Panzer, Michael & Louise O’Brien, and her parents Gerald and Mary Panzer. Kathy is survived by her husband Roger Burke and their beloved children Michael Burke, Shannon (Curtis) Homan, & Kristin Burke. As well as her siblings, Michael (Chris) Panzer, Carolyn Panzer, Theresa (Jason) Serpe, and Joseph Panzer. 


The visitation will be 3PM-9PM Friday, August 20th at Markiewicz Funeral Home, Lemont IL. 


Funeral services will be held 12 PM Saturday August 21st at St. Alphonsus Parish, Lemont IL with Rev. Brian P. Ardagh, officiating. Burial will follow at St. Alphonsus cemetery. Arrangements are by Markiewicz Funeral Home.


Pallbearers will be Michael Burke, John Burke, Joseph Burke, Lawrence Burke, Paul Burke, Michael Panzer, Joseph Panzer, Joseph Ekkert, and Jason Serpe. 


Memorials may be given to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital. 


The family of Kathy wishes to extend our sincere thanks to her medical team that provided the care that gave her five years of cherished time, all of the family and friends near and far that supported Kathy and her family through this journey, and her hospice team at Seasons hospice that supported Kathy and her family through their toughest season of life.
