Montville - Kathryn M. Crouch, 78, of Montville, passed away peacefully Sunday, July 27, 2025, at Groton Regency, after a courageous battle with Alzheimer's dementia. Born Feb. 6, 1947, at Lawrence + Memorial Hospital in New London, Kathryn was the second youngest of seven children. A devoted wife, mother, sister, aunt, great-aunt and grandmother, Kathryn lived a life defined by love, strength, and unwavering dedication to those she held dear.

She shared a deep and enduring love with her husband of 38 years, Andrew M. Crouch, whom she often fondly referred to as her "knight in shining armor." Together, they raised two beloved children, James Arico and Jennifer Weber, and Kathryn cherished her role as "Grammy" to her adored grandchildren, Logan and Lacey Weber.

Kathryn was a resilient and hardworking woman who wore many hats throughout her life. She held several careers, most notably serving as a security guard at Millstone Power Plant and later as a corrections officer at Corrigan Correctional Facility. In all she did, she brought compassion, determination and an unshakable work ethic.

Creative, detail-oriented, and full of life, Kathryn expressed herself beautifully through her surroundings. She had a rare gift for making a space feel warm, welcoming and uniquely her own. Fierce and tenacious, yet endlessly kind, Kathryn embodied a rare blend of strength and gentleness that left a lasting impression on all who knew her. Her love for family was at the center of everything she did, and she remains an enduring example of grace, resilience, and unconditional love.

Kathryn is survived by her loving husband Andrew M. Crouch; her son James Arico; her daughter Jennifer Weber and son-in-law Allen Weber; her sisters, Emma Holmgren and Jacqueline Nunes; and her treasured grandchildren, Logan and Lacey Weber. She was predeceased by her parents, John H. Meardy and Hazel A. Meardy; her brothers, Ronald, William, and John Meardy; and her sister, Elsie Meardy.

A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 9, at the Colonel Ledyard Cemetery, 252 Mitchell Street, Groton. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made in Kathryn's memory to an Alzheimer's research or support organization of your choice.
