Not sure what to say?

I was so sorry to hear of Kathy´s passing. I was fortunate enough to have worked for her at Animas Valley School. She was a beautiful person with a big heart. My condolences to you Shelby, Lauren and Dennis.

I sure miss you Kathy, you were the best sister to me.

Kathy hired me to teach 6th grade at Riverview back in 1988. (After that Kathy and sixth graders moved to middle school while I stayed at Riverview.) I was then fortunate to be hired by Kathy at the brand new Animas Valley Elementary. Kathy was a kind, caring, supportive principal who loved our school, the kids and those of us who worked there. So sad to lose a member of our AVE family.

Kathy was a first rate principal and an exemplar of teacher leadership. She was rightfully admired by all her worked with her. She was also a joyful, engaging person with a great sense of adventure and humor. I feel fortunate to have known her and worked with her and like so many others, truly regret her loss.

I remember traveling to NYC meeting up with Kathy and my sister Judy. These ladies picked me up in a limo! Who does this? Kathy! That was such a beautiful time with her.

Kathy always added a beautiful smile, sharp wit, deep compassion and skill guiding her students and staff, and so much fun to my years at 9-R. I´m very sad we´ve lost her and am holding close her good friends and dear family.

Sooo many memories....friends sharing events in their lives, recalling highlights at work, telling each other about family and dreams....traveling the world and having unforgettable adventures....the loss is deep. Kathy, my best friend, you had a wonderful life and shared your joy with many. I´m so happy we traveled the world and life together and so sad I lost you.

It is such an honor to have worked with Kathy. Her commitment to education, family, and her friends & colleagues made everything so much 'richer'. Her laughter will resonate with each thought of her!

Please accept our heartfelt condolences Shelby, Dennis ,loving family and Judy. I always loved seeing Kathy & Judy giggling at the Sports Club or wherever you were together....evident you were Besties. What a gift Kathy was to so many students and as an outstanding leader in 9-R. Her love and caring showed in so many ways.
