Not sure what to say?

In the early 1980s I was head of communications at one of largest business insurance brokerages and worked closely with Katherine while she was BI´s Editor. She was extremely knowledgable about the industry. She was as smart as the brokers at my company. She was tough but fair. May she RIP.

Kathryn was indeed a 'class act'. She built and then lead a fantastic team at Business Insurance / Crain's reporting on commercial insurance in a deep and instructive manner. She reached CEOs to individuals new to our industry. She was an inspiration to so many people. She was also a 'connector', and she brought the Association of Professional Women [APIW] organization & its networking / influence to our Chicago insurance industry. We are all grateful to have known, interacted with and...

Kathryn was incredible at networking. At an early point in our insurance careers we crossed paths. For many years we shared business and personal experiences. Her support and enthusiasm were invaluable. But mostly Kathryn was my good friend. I regret that we lost touch in the last few years. Distance and life changes. She was an unforgettable person.

I was so saddened to learn about the passing of Kathryn. She was such a terrific person. I knew her for more than 20 years. We had a great relationship -- she in insurance publishing and me in insurance media relations. I'm so glad she had time to enjoy her time with Bill in New Zealand. She will be greatly missed.

I remember Kathryn as a powerful women who inspired many. She was the energy that created the Chicago chapter of APIW that i was a proud member. She will be missed.

I am at a lost for words. Kathryn was the greatest boss, mentor and friend. The team she put together at BI in the 80s was a dream team. Wonderful professionals, wonderful people bonded by a really amazing wonderful woman. I am so lucky to have been a part of this world. Love you, Kathryn.

I met Kathryn in 1987 when she hired me as a reporter for Business Insurance. I was immediately impressed with her on so many levels I can't begin to list them. I soon learned that she had a knowledge of the insurance industry that no one else had. She was fearless, willing to take on some of the most powerful people in the industry. She could also be a quite demanding editor, which helped me understand how she built Business Insurance into the preeminent publication covering all aspects of...

Kathryn was a remarkable woman and businessperson. I was privileged to work with her as part of the editorial family at Business Insurance. Her leadership, among others', made BI the top publication in commercial insurance, risk management and employee benefits. Kathryn taught me so much, and I have so many fond memories. She had an uncanny knack for bringing people together and taking joy from whatever she was doing - she worked hard and played hard! Condolences to all Kathryn's family and...

Kathryn hired me as a reporter on Business Insurance in 1984. She was a wonderful manager - and friend. Kathryn had more vitality than anyone I´ve ever met. The world is a duller place without her. Judy Greenwald Kathryn hired me as a reporter on Business Insurance in 1984. She was a wonderful manager - and friend. Kathryn had more vitality than anyone I´ve ever met. The world is a...
