WEST COLUMBIA—Services for Katie Lou Browder, 90, of West Columbia, will be at 4 p.m. Monday, March 10, 2008 at Congaree Baptist Church. Officiating will be Rev. Ron Pelfrey and Rev. Steven McLain, burial to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Congaree Baptist Church, Building Fund, 101 Pine Ridge Dr., West Columbia, SC 29172. Thompson Funeral Home of West Columbia will be handling the arrangements.
Mrs. Browder, widow of Curtis N. Browder, passed away on Saturday, March 8, 2008. Born in Pelion, she was the daughter of the late Adam and Ethel Shealy Sharpe. She was a lifelong area resident and a member of Congaree Baptist Church, where she was a member of Willing Workers Sunday School Class. She was a loving and caring mother and friend and will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
Surviving are her daughters and sons-in-law, Betty and Fred Turner of Cayce, Angie and Marty Williams of West Columbia; son and daughter-in-law, Clyde and Linda Browder of Chapin; six grandchildren, Bill Senn, Mike Senn, Tamie Alexander, Nick Browder, Tia Williams, and Taylor Williams; five great grandchildren, Courtney Senn, Alex Senn, Nelson Senn, Kaylee Browder, and Autumn Browder; one great-great grandson, A. J. Harney. Mrs. Browder was preceded in death by a son, Neil Browder and a sister, Blondell Wise.
