Dear Sterling and Sally: Never thought I would learn of the passing of your daughter reading the editorial page of the Sunday Oregonian. We are so sorry for your loss and all you have gone through with your wonderful daughter. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. May her memory be a blessing to you and your family in the future. Katie Kimsey-Bennett was a remarkable young woman. She was determined to experience life in many different ways. In high school she ran cross country and sang in the choir. Then she decided she wanted to go to college and graduate and she did! Katie was very good at putting together jigsaw puzzles. She loved the challenge of putting together more and more difficult puzzles. But the greatest thing about Katie was her love for others and the love she received back. Katie, you are greatly...

I share in mourning the loss of Katie, a spirited and creative young woman. I got to see Katie's inimitable spirit firsthand through her participation at PHAME, where she made countless creative contributions. My heart is with her family at this difficult time.

Katie has been an amazing young women to watch grow up. She´s achieved more than anyone expected but was always looking for the next goal to accomplish. Phil and I extend deep sympathy to Sally, Sterling, Jessie, Christie and Mindy. We will hold Katie in our hearts.

I was Katie´s bus driver while she attended Alameda for kindergarten/1st grade. A sweet girl, with a beautiful smile. Deepest sympathy to the Kimsey-Bennett family.
