We cherish your memory! You inspired us to always seek excellence and you prepared us to do so. We thank you for your guidance. Thank You! Class of 72!! It's almost been 50 years!! I can still see your beautiful smile!

My condolences to the family, friends and students of Mrs. Katie Mims. We thank her for her guidance during high school English class where she demanded excellence. As I look back Im truly grateful for her attention to grammatical detail. Rest now for you have earned it as youve inspired a host of students who are indebted to you. Weeping may endure for a night but joy comes in the morning. Be blessed.

Class of 73

My sincerest condolences to the Mims Family. Ms. Mims was an excellent English teacher who expected the best from you and gave her best enabling you to soar. Her inspiration resulted in my becoming an English teacher and for that I will forever be grateful. The lives she touched as an instructor will always be part of her legacy. She will be missed.

Rest in peach Mrs Mims, I remember your kindness when I was a student at EE Smith. You were wonderful to the students.

Many memories flood in and thanks for pulling out of us all the good you saw. My prayers and sincere condolences to the family. She was a great teacher. A loving and kind person and I am very glad to have the memories.

I am so sorry to learn that Mrs. Mims passed. She was my homeroom teacher and English teacher for my senior year, 1970. She also taught my husband, James H. Simpson, class of1968. She was an excellent teacher and demanded your best always. We send our regards of condolence to the family.

An inspiring teacher.
