Katie Viola Bolden Swaine, 81, of Hardy, Va., went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, April 7, 2010. She was born in Charleston, W.Va., to the late Ermie Lee Bolden and Katie Bolden Davis. Survivors include her husband of 61 years, Giles E. Swaine; sons, James E. Bolden (Pamela), Giles E. Swaine Jr. (daughter, Jocelyn), Calvin A. Swaine (Peggy), Levi Q. Swaine (Brenda), and Jasper D. Swaine (Jenifer); daughters, Cheryl M. Bonds (daughter, Valarie), and Audrey F. Swaine (sons, Justin and Zachary); brothers and sisters, Jessie Bolden, Harvey Davis, Hervey Davis, Alberta Barnes, Esther Jones (George), Mary Brower (Norman), Christine Bodlen, and Mary Bolden; brother and sisters-in-law, James P. Swaine (Linda), Gladiola Phelps (Charles), and Vashti Hunter; 18 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. A funeral service will be held 3 p.m. on Monday, April 12, 2010, at Bellevue Missionary Baptist Church, Hardy, Va. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service. The interment will follow in The Swaine Family Cemetery. Friends may call at Serenity on Sunday, April 11, 2010, from 2 to 8 p.m. for viewing.
