Katie Wheat, age 53 of Murfreesboro died Sunday June 5, 2011 at her home. She was a native of Scotts Hill, TN and was the daughter of the late, William Earnest and Oma Spain Funderburk. Mrs. Wheat had worked for the City Cafe in Murfreesboro.

She is survived by her children, Kristie Hamlett and husband Dustin, Lisa and Austin Wheat, all of Murfreesboro; brothers, Terry Funderburk of Arizona , William, and Jackie Funderburk both of Parsons TN, R.L. Funderburk of Lexington TN, Mackie Funderburk of Texas; sisters, Nora McCollum of Lexington, Linda Tucker of Parson, TN, Betty Jean Sweatman of Scotts Hill, TN, and Lisa Funderburk of Texas; Grandchildren, Abby Hamlett, Gage Payne and his father Phillip, Kalyn Swank and her father Nick Swank; best friend Cathy Hill.

Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel with Rev. Kevin Barrett officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel 615-893-5151 www.woodfinchapel.com
