I worked at the family residence as security while working at the Houston Police Department. One Thanksgiving, Mrs. Mecum came out to the guard shack and insisted that I enjoy dinner with the family since I was away from mine. A truly class act of kindness I will never forget, even though over 35 years have passed. RIP. David Moore, Attorney At Law Groesbeck, Texas

I am one of the HPD officers that used to work at the River Oaks residence of Mrs Mecom. I remember her as a very beautiful, gracious and humble lady. In one word classy. She was always concerned with our (her security’s) welfare and treated us as friends.
My belated condolences to her family.

What a beautiful, sweet, gracious Woman. I was blessed to have known her when I was a kid and growing up, I was always happy to see her when she would be at our family Nail Salon. Always so kind. She will always be remembered fondly. God Bless her precious family.

I also attended Gulf Park as a high school student and was a sophomore when Katsy came. She was such a beautiful girl inside and out and a friend to all. Know she will be missed. My prayers are with all the family. Sybil Watkins Sartain (class of 1956)
