Not sure what to say?

Kay was my best supervisor at Pacific Telephone. We both left the company in 1991. I will retire this week with 33 1/2 years at Leidos. Kay supported my redirection from a pencil pushing engineer to a 40 year career in software engineering.

Kay was my favorite manager and friend at PacBell. She will be missed.

To Major: Kay was an absolute delight to know. Her wonderful, positive outlook on life was an inspiration. She seemed to me to be the ultimate "super mom" while at the same time achieving professional success with AT&T. I remember the times when she would call Major at my house to "remind" him of what he was to do as a proper house guest...and he would always laugh and say, "yes, yes, Mom, you have harped enough and I will be sure to do as you suggest!" Her relationship with Major was so...

Rest in peace Kay Ellen Garrett. My sincere Condolences go out to both Major and Marty - please know you are both in my thoughts and prayers at this difficult time. Sandy (King) Adams (Sister of Jan King and Ron King - we all went to school together and played Kearny Mesa Baseball!!!!) We are very proud of you Major - you are excellent doing your job on the news! May you remember the great memories of quality time spent with your mom! Take care! [email protected]

Kay was a strong role model to all in telephone engineering, particularly women. She was my most inspirational mentor and most importantly always my friend! I thank her for her guidance in my early business years which has remained with me throughout my career. I love you Kay! You will always be a part of me!

Kay's 75th Birthday Party

Kay was a very special friend, a wonderful boss and mentor. She will be missed by everyone that had the pleasure of meeting her. I will always remember the wonderful times that we had together.

Kay was a special friend. We served on the board of NWPC together and her leadership skill were evident. Mostly I will miss our regular lunches -- Kay, Anne Patton and me -- where we could discuss anything; but mostly we just laughed a lot. I cherish my last visit with Kay and Major in DC. We all lost a wise, talented, nurturing woman. Rest in peace, Kay.

So sorry to hear of Kay's passing. She was a leader and great co-worker. She always had time to answer questions and mentor.
