Kay Kamstra, age 45, of Sheldon, Iowa, passed away on Saturday, December 2, 2006, at her home in rural Sheldon. Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, December 7, 2006, at 10:30 A.M. at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Sheldon. Father Robert J. Schimmer officiating. Burial in the St. Patrick's Catholic Cemetery in Sheldon. Visitation will be Wednesday at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Sheldon, from 4:00 to 9:00 P.M. with Scriptual Wake Service at 7:00 P.M. Catholic Daughter of America Rosary at 7:30 P.M. The family will be present until 9:00 P.M. at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Sheldon. Kay Kamstra was born on May 13, 1961, in Sheldon, Iowa. She was the daughter of Cletus E. and Elizabeth (Bradley) Roth. Kay lived her youth in Sheldon where she attended St. Patrick's Catholic Grade School and graduated from Sheldon Community High School. She attended Western Iowa Community College for two years, graduating with a graphic arts degree. She was united in marriage to Terry Kamstra of Sheldon, Iowa, on May 8, 1982, at St. Patrick's Catholic Parish in Sheldon. They lived in Sheldon, until 1989, when they moved to rural Sheldon. Kay worked in Sioux City, until she was employed at the Print Shop in Sheldon. She later worked at Demco in Boyden, Iowa, in the printing department, until 1992, when she became a stay-at-home mother, until 1998, when her children went to school. She was then employed at O'Deans Plumbing in Boyden, and at Demco, in the printing department, where she worked for many years. Kay was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Sheldon, where she was a member of the Guild and Catholic Daughters of America and supported and enjoyed volunteering and participating in activities associated with the church and St. Patrick's Catholic School. Kay had a great love for her husband and children, putting them first in her daily activities and her life. Her life's passion was centered on her family, church, and friends, and giving of herself. She especially enjoyed opening her home and her heart to having friends and family over for "coffee". Kay also enjoyed riding horse, caring for plants in and around the house, interior decorating, cooking, fox hunting and attending her children's activities. She passed away on Saturday, December 2, 2006, at her home in rural Sheldon. Those left to cherish her memories are her husband: Terry Kamstra of Sheldon, IA; her children: Christine Kamstra, Luke Kamstra, Elizabeth Kamstra, and Margaret Kamstra, all of Sheldon, IA; her father: Cletus Roth of Sheldon, IA; her mother-in-law: Evelyn Kamstra of Sheldon, IA; two sisters: Ann Roth of Sheldon, IA, Mary Roth of Omaha, NE; two brothers and sister-in-law: Brad Roth of Sibley, IA, Mike and Mary Roth of Ocheyedan, IA; sister-in-law: Eileen Martens of Sheldon, IA; two brothers-in-law: Butch Kamstra of Sheldon, IA, Arlan and Laura Kamstra of Albuquerque, NM, and many relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her mother: Betty Roth; infant sister: Rose Marie Roth; and her father-in-law: Bill Kamstra.
