I remember a time when I was 3 or 4 years old and Kay was leaving in her car that had a running board. I wanted to come and she said no. I wanted to go with my sister so bad that I jumped on the running board and held on to the door handle. Of course, she made me get off and stay home. I imagine she was going out to see friends.

I remember when I was four years old, and I would wait for my hero and sister, Kay, to come home from high school. She soon went away to college to my ruefulness. After that I only saw her infrequently and for relatively short periods over the years, but my heart was always uplifted in her presence.
