Not sure what to say?

Though it has been over a month, I know her absence will be long felt in the hearts of Kay's family and friends. I enjoyed working with her in HCISD...she had a passion for those around her; a heat of gold. Prayers for healing and comfort.

Karen and Kay 1940

Kay, my partner in crime, I miss you. You were always so understanding and responsive to my practical jokes. I remember mom always telling the four of us to be on our best behavior with no horsing around during our Sunday dinners. Rarely did either of us make it through them without being asked to leave the table. If we managed, there was always one event at the end of the meal that caused uncontrollable laughter. A toothpick and the clicking sounds that followed meant the end of dinner...

My wife is always pointing out little mannerisms of mine that she says I got from my mother. I just hope that when my time comes I will have touched others lives in the way my mother did. She was truly someone special and will be missed. We love and miss you mom...Larry, Dora, Yessica, Yvonne, Matthew, James and Sebastian.

Dearest Sister Kay, We both started singing as little children on the radio in Ottumwa. You could hear a tune and sit down and play it by ear on the piano. We both loved your favorite, George Jones and sang "I don't need your rockin' chair." You always had neon in your veins and passed your love of country music on to your children and grandchildren. I know you are with Mother now in heaven, as Don said singing, I did it my way. I see your face every day and hear you call me Dot-Dot-Dash. ...

Dearest Sis

You used to call me Jean the Bean and we would both laugh. I know you are alive in Lori and your sons and your many grandchildren........and in my heart. I love you.

Kay I was just thinking about you for some reason last week. I will never forget the smell of coffee coming from your room and the delicious muffins you use to bring me every week. It was an honor working with you and you will always have a place in my heart. I will never forget you pretty lady. XOXO

I had the honor of working with Kay at both Gutierrez Middle School and Vela Middle School. It always brightened my day when Kay would stop by my office to talk. She will be missed.

Kay was such an amazing person, and my life was blessed by knowing her. We taught together in Harlingen in the early 90's, and she is someone I will never forget.

My condolences to the family. My prayers are with you.
