Our deepest sympathy to all, especially to Tom, whom we knew in Lagos in 1968. With Margaret his sister - both very blond & such fun - & their mother Barbara, we had as good a time together as one could during the Biafran war. We played bridge (with Wendell & Barbara), drank gin fizzes & supped together ...Eventually we all returned to the Washington area where we visited in McLean & later in the Virginia countryside.
Wendell was a lovely man - so considerate, so interesting...

We have a lot of great memories of our visits with you and Mom at the countryhouse.
