To all of Kayla's family,
I came upon this page while I was searching the internet for Janey. I am a very old friend of hers but have lost touch with her over the past 7-8 years. I remember Kayla. What a beautiful sweet and innocent girl she was. I am so sad to hear that she is no longer with us. If anyone knows how I can get in touch with Janey, PLEASE contact me. My heart goes out to all of you.

Dear Carpenter Family,
Thinking of you with deep compassion and sorrow. I was with Lee when he received the voice message letting him know of Kayla's passing; we are so stunned. I visited with him today and he asked to go to Jamaica Pond just to sit -- that was one of the places he took her to talk. Smiles and laughter are a more true measure of life; Kayla has already outlived us all.

I remember when she became an aunt, at age 5. She was very serious about it, as well as excited. Dad (me) was more or less in vertigo.
