Keaton Fujii was born on April 9th, 1996, in Sacramento, CA. He is survived by parents Michael and Shirley Fujii and sister, Kylie. He grew up in Rocklin, CA, graduating from Rocklin High School in 2014. He was much accomplished in his short life; he earned a first-degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do at age 11, his second-degree black belt at age 14, and his Eagle Scout at age 17. In his sophomore year of high school, he found his way to the JROTC program. There, he found a calling for the military and a career path he never knew existed. He chose to go to college at Arizona State University, where he was awarded both a 4-year merit scholarship as well as a 3-year Naval ROTC scholarship and his goal was to be an aviator. Keaton loved living in Arizona and in 2018, he graduated with a degree in Automotive Systems Engineering, then immediately commissioned into the Navy and was granted his first choice as a Naval Aviator. In August 2018, Keaton left Arizona for Pensacola, Florida, to begin his flight training. Upon completion of Primary training, Keaton was assigned to fly helicopters and was a proud member of Advanced Training Squadron HT-8. With the support of his Naval family, in February of 2021 Keaton received his wings. His first assignment as a Naval Aviator was flying the H-60S, Sierra, in Atsugi, Japan. Before departing for Japan, Keaton was required to train in Sierras in San Diego, CA. He was excited to be stationed there, as his younger sister, Kylie, was already living in San Diego and they were going to live together. On March 21st, 2021, on the drive to move cross country, Keaton perished in a fatal car accident. Keaton achieved every goal to which he set his mind, from earning the rank of Eagle Scout to becoming a Naval pilot. The path was not always easy, but he always persevered to attain his goals. His family takes great comfort in the fact he was in the best place in his life when he passed. At that moment, he was driving his car he loved, with his girl he loved and his dog he loved and going to a job he loved. Keaton loved the Navy and loved flying helicopters. We will remember him as "Fooj - Forever Flying". A private Celebration of Life will be held on April 9th, 2021. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Keaton's name to The Wingman Foundation (wingmanfoundation.org) or the charity of your choice.

He was a great soul. I will always cherish our talks about photography.

Keaton and I met through Jrotc. He was there for me through my darkest times. I remembered when we were kids we talked about both of us being pilots and joining the military. I still can't believe he's gone we had big plans when he was done with training to come to Japan. Rest In Peace brother. You will never be forgotten.

I'm so sorry to hear about Keaton. Condolences to you-Shirley, Mike and Kylie. My prayers and thoughts are with your family.

I went to elementary, middle, and high school with Keaton. He was always witty, energetic, and funny. I'm so sorry to hear this has happened, but I'm glad he was in such a good place in his life, doing what he loved.

Mike Shirley Kylie may your angel watch over you and help you navigate the next few weeks months and years. Hold on to each other and cherish every memory. My deepest sympathies to you all may God guide you through the unknown waters. Prayers ans hugs
