Keaton Salenger Reed, born Keaton Salenger Cody, 25, of Columbus, died Tuesday afternoon, July 18, 2023, at Grant Medical Center as a result of a motorcycle accident.
Born January 26, 1998, in Zanesville, Keaton was the oldest son of Ryan Reed and Susan (Cody) Reed McPherson. Keaton was active in football, basketball, MMA, sand volleyball and grew up in the Chapel Hill Freewill Baptist Church. As an adult, Keaton enjoyed motorcycles, his beloved dogs, notably his girlfriend, Tay and his chosen family, Dustin, Kenny, Corey, Trenton, Austin, Christian, Gibbs, Ron, Riley, Tierra, Joseph, Derrick, Dev, NHB and The South Family. Keaton was warm, generous and lived life to the fullest. His loss is felt by everyone that has ever seen his crooked, up-to-something grin.
Keaton is survived by his parents, Susan (Cody) Reed McPherson and Ryan (Brandi) Reed; maternal great grandmother, Irma Cody; maternal great-grandmother, Nita Reed; paternal grandmother, Sandy Reed; grandparents, Danny (Terry) Jeska; siblings, Brandon Reed, Cody Reed, Ethan Hood, Evelynn Hood, Asher Reed, Aiden Reed, Ashlynn Bolen, Zachariah Bolen and Atticus Bolen, as well as innumerate loving Aunts, Uncles and cousins.
Keaton was preceded in death by his maternal great-grandfather, James A. Cody; maternal great-grandfather, Willard Reed; great-grandfather, Eugene Beard; maternal grandfather, James T. Cody; maternal grandmother, Carol Cody; grandmother, Tamara Giffin; great aunt, Sandi Cody Bryan; Zachariah Bolen, and a cousin, Buddy Kinney.
Friends and family may call Monday, July 24, 2023 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at The Dresden Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home, 714 Main Street. All are welcome and encouraged to attend.
Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 25, 2023 at 1:00 PM with Paster Dan Wells officiating.
Keaton will be laid to rest at Dresden Cemetery. Reception to follow at the American Legion in Dresden, food donations for family and friends will be accepted and appreciated.
