Not sure what to say?

I just found out about dr knapp passing , he was the best, in 1977 he saved my life i was 5 yrs old and was hit by a car dragged 3 1/2 blocks by a hit and run, spent a yr in a body cast i was in cook county hospital at the time and while I was there the drs there wanted to amputate my leg, and dr knapp told my mother and grandparents noway I want him transfered to mercy thank God he did , not only did he save my life, but he saved my leg, I will never forget him and same with my mother debbie...

Hey Dana, Even though late I am sorry to hear about your dad. I worked with him as a jr. colleague, I believe he had some record delivering babies. We use to hear that if he has to deliver late in the night, he will take a quick nap commuting between hospitals, before going to his clinic. Please correct me if it is not correct.

To the entire Knapp family.
I am so sorry to hear about your loss.

I am writing on behalf of the Rian family from 31st Lowe.

When I grew up in Bridgeport Dr Knapp's office was on Wallace.
Oh what a Dr!. There is and will be no
one like him. He was there for my family for many many years as I was growing up. Always there. No matter what time of day. He was very good to my mom, Joan who passed away in 1975.
Growing up,I really thought he was the ONLY...

He will always be loved & remembered in our family...From generation to generation he was the Dr. we all used.(They don't make em like that anymore) Until we meet again. Peace & Love

I am so sorry to hear about Dr Knapp passing. I didn't know until I drove past his office yesterday.
Like so many in the neighborhood, he delivered me and my other siblings and in turn he was my family doctor when I lived in Bridgeport.
Always packed, but the wait in the office was worth every minute to see a doctor who went out of his way to help everyone.
He will be missed.

Dana, I grew up in Bridgeport and you were the same age as a friend of mine. Your memories in the guest book brought back some good ones like The Governor's Table. I still remember which house was yours. I wish you and your family peace and certainly your dad for how hard he worked.

He delivered me and from what I heard from my mother and from others whom he cared for, he was a lifesaver and a doctor ahead of his time. His compassion was remarkable. He is a legend. Everyone knew him.

with our deepest symphathy , he will be missed

To the family of a great Doctor, he was my family doctor for many years and went on to be the doctor of my grandchildren he also seen that my husband got an extra 10 years of life because of a double bypass he seen him through, the late Cleo Smith.
