Not sure what to say?

As this will be one the final entries, if not the final entry, I will start out with the fact that I am so grateful for those from my former home of Oklahoma City who have been positive towards Keith Leftwich.

While I was growing-up in South Oklahoma City during the 1970's, it was a community that was overwhelmingly white. The political and social environment was seemingly directed by rural-based, southern-style good 'ol boys. A case in point is that my alma mater, U.S. Grant...

I knew Senator Leftwich back in 1996 when I spent 3 weeks watching over what he did for a living for my senior project.. I suppose you would call it shadowing him and his work. I will never forget those 3 weeks..He taught me through his dealing with people how politics are at their best. I was there with him from 8:30am until the late afternoon following him to meetings and watching him from above on the senate floor! I am so sorry to hear of his death. It's so strange. I left Oklahoma and...

Keith was a good man, and even though I didn't know him well, I do know he loved his family, and he treated everyone with respect. My wife and I would like to express our condolences to his wonderful family. Keith will be missed by many.

Oh yes, I forgot something extremely important. During this era of "tele-everything", Keith C. Leftwich remembered that all-important element known as "personal touch." Most evident is the fact that he pays a visit to so many places and events.

Another sad thing from this is the fact that Keith Leftwich did not get a chance to be elected to a statewide office, even though he tried back in 1988 for Corporation Commission. People from all over Oklahoma knew me as someone who was...

As a friend of the Leftwich's, Keith was a wonderful father to his boys and supportive husband to Debbe. As a young adult during a time when I needed a family, Debbe and Keith let me become a part of theirs. I will never forget his kindness and his dedication to serving others.

As a song by that great group from the UK, SClub7's "Have you ever loved and lost somebody" has become a mentally repetitive song throughout the day. I am saddened that one of South Oklahoma City's best will no longer represent their desire for progress. I also regret that he will not be around for any new events that will happen. Certainly, his quarter of a century of service will be cherished.

Keith was a student of mine one year at Choctaw High School. He was one of those 'unforgetable' students. Keith was a most respectful, courteous, and intelligent student. My thoughts and prayers go out to the Leftwich Family.

I met Keith Leftwich while in a student youth in government program at the south okc YMCA in the seventies. I remember him as being extremely intelligent and full of energy. During the years that followed, I watched as he continually improved the quality of Oklahoma and southside okc life. I will always remember his enthusiasm to do what is right.....for everyone, regardless of political or religious aspirations. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family and everyone who was touched by...

Another angel and gotten his wings with the passing of Sen. Keith Leftwich.
Keith was a kind and gentle person who cared about people and he cared deeply about Oklahoma and he cared about our nation.
I met Keith on my front door step as he was out on one his community "walks". He sat down and talked with me and my daughter. He was genuine and trustworthy. The community of Oklahoma will miss your tireless efforts to lift us all up. We must carry on yourlegacy of service and keep...
