Keith Longhurst Obituary

Longhurst, Keith A.
43, of Gilbert, Arizona passed away on October 27, 2015. He was born to Diana (Carrigan) Larsen and Ken Longhurst on December 6, 1971 near Chicago, Illinois and moved to the suburbs of Phoenix, Arizona as a teenager. He graduated from Dobson High School in Mesa, Arizona in 1990 and later became a home appraiser. Keith was filled with humor and kindness. His jokes would often cause tears of laughter and equally often caused a groan and an eye roll. Either way, his light-hearted demeanor made him a joy to be around. He had a love of cinema and collected movies. He loved music of all types and enjoyed introducing people to new (and often humorous) music. Keith loved karaoke and had no shame in belting out a top 40 song in a Kermit the Frog voice. He had a knack for trivia and developed many close friendships while playing pub trivia regularly. He was a huge Denver Broncos fan. Above all, Keith loved his dog, Bella. It is said one can judge a person's character by how that person treats animals; Keith's care for Bella was a direct display of what a wonderful man he was. He is survived by his Grandparents, Betty & Bernard Carrigan, Parents Diana (Jon) Larsen, Ken (Lynda) Longhurst, 3 siblings, and several extended family members. He was preceded by his grandparents, Valerie & William Longhurst.
Family and friends are invited to attend services at Shadow Mountain Mortuary 2350 E. Greenway Rd. Phoenix, AZ 85022 with reception following at Hidden Palace 15001 N. Cave Creek Rd. Phoenix 85032. Nearly two weeks ago, Heaven received several new members one of them was named Keith Longhurst.

He was bright, kind, and funny - and not ever having been to Denver or Colorado- a Bronco's Fan.

He was first my friend then husband then my friend again.

The thing I treasured most in our relationship, outside of our friends and family, was a dog- her name was Bella. I still remember the day she entered our lives it was National Dog Day (08/26/08). I recall how Keith keept her calm on the very long drive to the house.

News of Keith's passing devastated all who knew him.

I know Keith's family especially his sisters who horribly miss their big brother is surrounded with lots of love from above.

I pray they are filled with peace knowing Keith's light simply transformed into a star above which will forever more reveal a little more light from Heaven above.

Thank you Keith:

For all the laughter and joy you brought to this world especially the day you were born and each day thereafter-

For sharing your story with my family and friends -

For teaching the world to be: Kind, Genuine, Honest, and Merciful.

Last but not least thank you for teaching the world that every once in a while one needs to throw the ears back, close the eyes, stick the tongue out, and allow the wind to blow in one's face (OK - this is one is from Bella but I know Keith would appreciate it
Rest in Peace, my dear friend, Rest in Peace.

Ken, Diana, Kim, Sarah and Jessica,

I have been thinking of you all since I heard the sad news about Keith. My favorite childhood memories always include the ones we all spent together on Garden Court. Keith was such a fun and kind person. Sending all of you prayers and hugs!

Keith is my best friend and my best man. 1996

My deepest condolences to the Longhurst family and friends.
"Keith, you have been missed and now will be missed forever. I remember when we were closest of friends in Jr. High, High School and into being young men and I told you we will only have a handful of true friends in our lifetime and you (Keith) are one of mine forever. As we grew older our paths grew further apart. I will be forever thankful for when you and Patty met with me at Rubios and our paths came back together. If I knew that was the last time I would see you, I would have held onto you tighter and longer--seeing you again gave me hope and faith that we would see each other again. I loved you best friend. I missed you for many years. Now I will remember you always. The place you have in my heart is yours forever." -Andrew Milan Kristich
