MUMFORD, Keith Warren, 41, died Sunday, June 28, 2009. Emily Sackett Mumford of Lynchburg is Keith's wife and they are the parents of Anne Frazier (11), Mary Elizabeth (9), Sally Sackett (7) and Henry Warren (5). As a father, Keith took so much joy in his family that it was contagious and always charming. Emily and the children will always carry his wonderful spirit and youthful grace in their hearts. That's his love-print on theirs and all our hearts. Keith was a graduate of St. Christopher's School, Vanderbilt University, and the Darden School at the University of Virginia; an investment banker with BB&T Capital Markets and a "regular" on the tennis courts. At each of these stations in life, Keith distinguished himself and developed lasting friendships. He was a truly good man and fun to be around. After a massive heart attack in late December, Keith spent the past six months at MCV (VCU Medical Center) working toward a heart transplant. He did not recover from complications of that surgery. He left a lasting impression on his caregivers and they left a lasting impression on us, having given so much of their love to him. His mother is Carol Napier; father, Lee Mumford; brother, Chris Mumford; and sister-in-law, Nicole Mumford. His stepparents are John Napier and Sarah Mumford. His stepbrother and sister are Reid Collier and Katie Poole. His father-in-law and mother-in-law are Henry and Julie Sackett. His brothers-in-law are Henry, Christopher and Matthew Sackett and their wives, Lucy, Drewry, and Cathy. A memorial service will be held at St. Stephen's Episcopal Church at 6000 Grove Avenue in Richmond on Wednesday, July 1 at 10 a.m. A friends and family reception will follow. Check with Caringbridge.org / keithmumford for information about memorial gifts. We will always keep Keith in our hearts Every Step. Every Day.

Dear Emily and Family,
Michael and I were on vacation and just learned of Keith's passing. We are so very sorry and so very sad. You have been and will continue to be in our thoughts and prayers.

I was deeply saddened to hear of your loss. Your entire family is in my thoughts and prayers.

I am so sorry for your loss! I haven't seen Keith for several years, but I worked with him in Anthem's underwriting department in the 90's. I will always remember his wonderful sense of humor - he made it such a fun place to work! My prayers go out to your family.

Carol, I just got back from vacation and heard about Keith's passing. I am so sorry. I know he fought so hard. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

To Keith's Family,
I apologize for writing in such a public forum, but I do not know your addresses.
Keith was in my 7th grade English class at Robious Middle School.
I well remember his battle and defeat of another illness in 1981.
I can still see him when he returned to school that fall with the little white hat and cheerful spirit.
Carol, you would not rember, but you touched the life of my sister-in-law that summer in the Intensive Care waiting room.
You...

Dear Emily,
