Not sure what to say?

A great leader of Marines. It was my privilege to serve under his command at 2nd MAW, Cherry Point. Dr. Walter R Whiteaker PhD CWO-4 USMC Retired

I know this is 12 years too late but I just wanted to tell the entire Smith family how truly sorry I am to learn of his passing. I was lucky enough to have been General Smith's Driver while stationed at Cherry Point. I was very young and he had such an impact on my. The best part of the day would be picking him up early at the morning from his house on base and spending an hour or so with him before the rest of his Staff were do in. I wish I were a little older so I could really appreciate...

So sorry hear this bad news. I have known LtGen Smith for many years. What a wonderful Marine and American.

"Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted."-Matthew 5:4

To the family of Keith A. Smith: My condolences for your loss. I did not know your husband and father but happened across the notice of his burial in the Quantico Sentry. I was amazed reading his service record and am sure his personal life and dedication to family was no less amazing. Thanks to your family for service to our country. It's my honor to just express heartfelt thanks and best wishes to your family. Sincerely,

Although I never met him, he was a wonderful man. I know this because I have known his daughter, Lynn--a shining example of his courage and love of country. He will be sorely missed. God bless the entire Smith Family, and thank you for your service.

His legacy lives with the many who served with him and passed it to others. May you find solace in the rememberance and celebration of his wonderful life.

To the Smiith Family, we join un your celebration of your husband/father's life. I had the honor to serve under Gen Smith when he was CG go the 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing, 1982-1985. He was an outstanding leader of Marines and I hold him in the highest regard. My wife, Alicia, remembers his support for the start of the Key Wives program to support the Marine families when their units were deployed. He will be remembered with our highest respect. God Bless all of you during your celebration...

To the Smith Family, I am very sorry for your loss. He was one of the greatest men and Marines I ever knew.
