Dear JoAnn, I worked with Dr. Smith in the OR for many, many hours in Room 6 at Parma Hospital. You knew me back then as "Smitty" We sure had some interesting times. He was a gifted surgeon and I'm very sorry for your loss.

I am so sorry for your loss. Dr Smith was a truly gifted surgeon. He became my Doctor during his first year in practice. I remember laying across my mother's lap to sick to sit up. He saw us right away, the other patients let us go before our appointment time. From there he called the hospital to have me admitted and the next day he saved my life! He was and always will be my hero. Years later when I took my kids to see him, I heard him telling the story of a little girl and how he saved...

So sorry for your loss he was my parents and myself dr for many years. I was always amazed by his smile all the time as he went from patient to patient in his office.
My family admired his spunk about life especially sailing.
