What a kind, gentle man. I took drum lessons from Mr. Unger. My skills were lacking, but, he was always positive in his attempts to improve those skills. One night, in 1964, he invited my family to watch him perform at a local restaurant/club. The thrill of the night was when he dedicated to me the tune "Caravan" which included a drum solo. He was great! I've thought about him many times and am sad at his passing. My sympathies to his family.

Mr. Unger was a caring unique man. I played clarinet in the school band and first seat in city wide band and he always was the first to encourage and praise you. He was a GREAT asset to Harding Jr high. Much love and prayers to his family and friends. He's playing with God's band of Angels.

I also was a majorette under Mr. Unger. I also remember him as such a kind, soft spoken man. Those days were some of my favorite memories at Harding. Rest in peace Mr. Unger. You touched a lot of lives.
