Grand Island, New York
KNAB - Kelly Age 28, of Grand Island, passed away in New York City at Memorial Sloan Kettering on January 2, 2015. Her passing was peaceful, and she was surrounded by many of her closest loved ones. She is survived by her mother and father, Sheryl and Richard Knab; her brother, Joe Knab; her fiance, Matt Seconi; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. Her passing was the result of a 14 month battle with a rare form of cancer that she fought with courage and grace. Kelly exemplified a love for life and never failed to put others first, even during the course of her disease. She was able to light up a room when she entered, and made everyone feel welcome with her bubbly hello's. In no particular order, Kelly loved skiing, great music, family, Matt, mashed potatoes, New York City, poetry, and best of all, life. If you would like to pay tribute to her life and the love she showed everyone else, her family would love to see you at calling hours and services. Calling hours will take place at KAISER FUNERAL HOME, 1950 Whitehaven Rd., Grand Island, Tuesday 7-9 PM and Wednesday 2-4 PM and 6-9 PM. A service in her memory will be held Thursday at 10 AM at Kaiser Funeral Home with lunch following at 12:00 PM at River Oaks Golf Club, Grand Island. If you wish to show your love and support by sending something, the family would instead ask that you make a donation to Cycle for Survival. Kelly loved this event and was set to participate for the second year in a row this February. 100% of the money raised goes to research for curing rare cancers at the hospital that treated Kelly.
