Not sure what to say?

I am so sorry to hear of Kelly's passing. I worked for him at First Security Bank for many years after Dr. ElRoy Nelson left. Please know he will be missed by everyone that knew him. Condolences and sympathy, Pat Klein

I was surprised and saddened to read about the passing of Kelly Matthews, my friend and mentor. People like him are supposed to last forever. Years ago, he came to my classroom to offer me a position supervising economic education. After offering me the position, he said that he needed to change hats and as a parent asked me to turn him down and stay in the classroom. That conversation was a a defining moment in my career and I loved him for it. Please accept my best wishes for all of you in...

Dear Mary Lynn, I just saw Kelly's obituary on facebook and I was overcome with an immediate sense of grief and the memory of our last visit at the old MHS following the multi-year reunion, (2014 I think). You two made an outstanding couple and example of doing what's right. I am very sorry for your loss and pray for your continual companionship of the spirit as you move ahead in life. As Pres. Nelson said at this last conference, "Think Celestial" and I know that you will have the...

So sorry to hear of his passing. He took time out of his busy schedule to meet me, a graduating Sr. at Bear Lake High, at my request to ask about advice on how to become an international banker, at the suggestion of his relative, Marge Matthews who played saxophone in the high school band with me. He advised me to study Accounting, and that has made all the difference in my nearly 40 year career. So grateful he took time to counsel me. Mark Scott

Dear Mary Lynn, I was so sorry to read of your loss. It has been so many years ago, but you and I were roommates in Heritage Halls as you were waiting for Kelly while he served his mission. I pray that you will find strength and peace during this difficult time

Dear Mary Lynn and Family, We extend our sincere condolences to your family at this tender time. We loved reading Kelly's obituary and concur with all of the positive attributes which are detailed there. Hope see all of you today - Friday, 13OCT23, for the services in North Salt Lake.

Very sorry to learn of Kelly's passing. He was a gentleman and a scholar. We joined FSB the same year. Kelly was always my favorite on the Division meeting agenda when he would share his insight re the economy. While I graduated in banking and finance, I could only handle the 3 obligatory economics courses. Kelly changed all that. I was very interested in his updates and peppered him with more questions than he probably appreciated. While I ended my banking career after 33 years, my interest...

Dear Mary Lynn, I was so sorry to hear about Kelly, your childhood sweetheart. This has to be such a difficult time- Christin said that he had just had a good report from the Dr. He really did accomplish a lot in his life and did many wonderful things both in his career and with his family. I wish that I had been able to know him. This is a very sad time, but thankfully you have the Lord to sustain you and comfort you as you move to the next stage of your life. Please know that I...
