Kemberly Sue DeRea, 57, of Bangor, passed away, Saturday, May 8, 2021, at the residence of her parents, Kenneth and Kay Fraunfelter.


Born in East Stroudsburg, September 21, 1963, she was the daughter of Kenneth J. and Kay F. (Dally) Fraunfelter.


Kem was employed as a manager at Weis Market, Bangor, prior to that for many years, she was employed by Majestic Athletic.


She was a 1981 graduate of Bangor High School.


She was a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, Roseto, and was a supporter of Pius X Football, Baseball, Cheerleading, and was a proud Army Mom.


In addition to her parents, Kenneth and Kay, she is survived by her husband Nicholas L. DeRea, a daughter, Ashley N. DeRea-Rubas, a son, Nicholas A. DeRea and his fiancée Amanda Russo, two grandchildren, Brielle and Riley, a sister, Krissa L. Ott and her husband Randy, a brother, Kyle J. Fraunfelter and his wife Beth. She was loved dearly by her nieces and nephews.


There will be a visitation, Saturday, beginning at 11 AM until 2 PM at the Ruggiero Funeral Home, LLC, 126 E. Pennsylvania Avenue, Pen Argyl.  Mask requirements, social distancing and capacity limitations will be in place. A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.

Kemberly was the recipient of a kidney transplant from her sister Krissa.  Therefore, the family is requesting that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be offered to the American Kidney Fund, www.kidneyfund.org, 11921 Rockville Pike, Suite 300, Rockville, MD 20852.
