Smith, Bizzell & Warner Funeral Home Obituary

Kemond Oscar-Lee Coleman, "Dread head Cortez" was born to Regina Scott on October 31, 1995 in Munster, Indiana.
Kemond attended East Chicago Central High School and was a senior.
He confessed Christ early and was baptized at the Greater First Baptist Church under Bishop Tavis L. Grant II in East Chicago, Indiana.

"Dread head Cortez" as he was affectionately called by his close friends and loved ones was a joy to be around. He cherished his family and friends. His love for music and video games is how he spent some of his free time, along with hanging out with friends and spending quality time with his grandmother Gloria Williams. He will be missed tremendously.

Kemond exchanged time for eternity on Saturday, July 26, 2014.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents Oscar Lee (Alana) Coleman; grandparents James (Ossie) Pratt; aunts, Diane Coleman and Deborah Pratt; and best friend "Garrion".

He leaves to cherish his memories, mother Regina Scott; two brothers Demond Tolbert and Emonta Coleman; two sisters Ahshuhna Coleman ("Mimi") and Charlene Coleman ("Precious"), both of Hammond;
grandmother, Gloria (Lonnie) Williams of Gary, Indiana;
one nephew, Da'Viarre Tolbert of East Chicago, Indiana and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends; special friend Yamilex Gonzales.

Funeral Services to be held at Greater First Baptist Church, 4862 Olcott Avenue, East Chicago, IN on August 2, 2014, Bishop Tavis Grant, officiating. Visitation from 10 a.m. until service at 11 a.m. Interment at Fern Oak Cemetery, Griffith, IN.
