Houma, LA-----– A Homegoing Celebration for Kendra Lynette Miller-Jackson, 41, will be held on Saturday, March 16, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Beautiful Zion Baptist Church, 120 Hialeah Avenue, Houma. Rev. Gilbert R.  Washington, Jr. pastor. The officiating minister will be pastor, Troy L. Smith, Sr.


Her earthly resting place will be New Zion Baptist Church Cemetery, Houma LA.


Visitation will commence on Saturday at 9:00 AM and conclude at 11:00 AM at the church.


 Kendra Lynette Miller-Jackson, 41, was born on Saturday, July 17, 1982 to the parentage of Bryan and Debra Miller Ezell in Houma, LA. A lifelong resident of Houma, she attended the schools of Terrebone Parish. Having a strong work ethic, she began employment with job at Wendy’s Restaurant, where she eventually was promoted Manager, thereby being her one and only place of employment.


Kendra accepted Christ and was baptized according to scripture. She was a member of the New Mt. Pilgrim Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Troy L. Smith, Sr. She served faithfully until her health challenges did not afford her the ability to attend physically, but she still supported the church financially and prayerfully.


Although Kendra was the second of eight children, she stood out because of her warm smile, calm demeanor, being the life of the party and she always exemplified love and affection children and family. Kendra was blessed with three children, Kavon, Ya’Kira and Rajanae and her first grandchild, Akai Ke’vion (whom she awaited with great happiness and joy to meet),who were the love of her life.


She was preceded in death by, two brothers, Bryan “BJ” Miller, Sr. and Terrell Miller, Sr.; grandparents, Freddie and Earlis Miller and Thomas and Mercedes Miller, Sr. and great-grandparents, Paul and Katie Henry. After a season of illness, God decided he would grant her rest from her labour to reward. At that moment on Friday, March 8, 2024 at 2:46 PM, his perfect will for her life was accomplished.


The memory of her life and ;legacy will forever live on and embrace the hearts and minds of those who knew and loved her who include; her three children, Kavon Miller, Ya’Kira Miller and Rajanae Miller and her only grandchild, Akai Ke’vion Holly, all of Houma, LA; her parents, Bryan and Debra Miller, Sr., both of Houma, LA; five siblings, Rev. Ryan Miller, Sr,, Keya (Donald) Poindexter, Ashley Miller, Keanfa Miller,  and Tavonda (Toby) Lewis, all of Houma, LA; her aunts and uncles, Betty Bivens, Marion Miller, Lois (Charles, Sr.) Simmons, Carolyn Miller, Kathy Ezell, Yolanda (John) Solomon and Thomas (Sheri) Ezell, Jr., all of Houma, LA; great aunts, Charlotte Shepherd and Rose Ezell, both of Houma, LA; nieces, nephews,  several godchildren, other relatives and friends who realize that “earth has no sorrow that heaven cannot heal.”
