Not sure what to say?

we miss seeing him on his bike andchatting on the coastal trail. we didn't realize how old he was when he was still biking to get around. sets a challenge for the rest of us.

To Ken's family,

I met Ken in the early 1970's. My initial memory of him was as a young judge presiding over a criminal case in which he conducted a defense that taught me volumes about how to be an effective trial attorney. Over the ensuring decades, I was just as likely to meet Ken on his bike on the coastal trail as I was to meet him in a professional context. But whatever the context, he was always engaging, courteous and interesting. He will be missed.

I am so sorry to hear that Ken has left us.

I met Ken in '74 when he opposed me in my very first Superior Court litigation. He was a true gentleman then and remained so in every encounter since. And quite a wit, of course!
Since the '80s we have been neighbors and I always derived pleasure from our brief encounters on the Coastal Trail. I'll miss him, as will many many others, I am sure.

Ken Atkinson was smart, funny, and had as nimble and shrewd a legal mind as anyone I ever met. He also was highly disciplined and committed. Ken was generous and patient with young lawyers and always willing to share advice or guidance. My condolences to his family and friends, who I know will miss him.

I had the pleasure of working for Mr. Atkinson (I never called him Ken) in the early 80's as his receptionist. I will never forget the time we had an earthquake and he was there by my side consoling me as I cried. I left the state for 12 years and when I returned I would see him in several stores throughout Anchorage, he always remembered who I was. I will miss him dearly.

I worked for Ken's law firm for a couple years and he was such a patient and funny guy! Prayers to his family!

Ken was always so tolerant of Bonnie's and my antics when we were besties as kids. I will miss seeing him riding his bike around the neighborhood and enjoying Alaska. Much love to the family! xo Brenna (Linford) Reynolds

I'll miss seeing my neighbor Ken on the Coastal Trail. It was always great to see him and stop to chat. Irene Darbyshire
