Kenneth CHANEY Obituary


News Death Notice

CHANEY, Kenneth F. 79, passed away Friday, December 20, 2013 at Hospice of Butler and Warren County. He was born in Middletown, Ohio the son of Eber and Rena (Blevins) Chaney. Ken graduated from West Elkton High School in 1952, Wilmington College in 1956 with a degree in Chemistry, and retired in 1989 from Mound Labs in Miamisburg, Ohio. Ken was an active life member and past president of the Middletown Sportsmen's Club, past president of the Ohio State Trapshooting Association and a life member of the Amateur Trapshooting Association. He enjoyed many years traveling the country with his family attending trapshooting competitions and attended the Grand American Trap shoot 45 consecutive years. He won numerous shooting events at the state and national level. Ken was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Geraldine Chaney, and a brother, Allen Chaney. He is survived by two sons, Michael (Leatha) Chaney and Andy (Lesa) Chaney, one granddaughter, Sarah Chaney, one nephew and one niece. Life Celebration Services will be Thursday, December 26, 2013 at 12:00 pm at the Breitenbach-McCoy-Leffler Funeral Home, 517 S. Sutphin St, Middletown. Visitation will begin at 10:00 am until time of service. Burial will be in West Elkton Fairmound Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Butler and Warren County.

Mike, Andy, and family - We would like to express our deepest condolences on the loss of you dad. He will be missed by the Sportsmen's club community.
