I had lunch with Ken for years in the Lucent cafeteria and at Mr. Chou's! He was a mellow, thoughtful reader of the NY Times, a physicist who would rather talk about politics, an avid reader who turned me on to interesting writers, cared about me as a friend and made me laugh for instance, with his occasional "sunglasses indoors routine"...seeing Jack Nicholson movies. I admired his eclectic tastes, (except 5 hr. Wagner operas). He appreciated life and his wife. He was a pleasure to work...

Phyllis -- our deepest sympathy to you on the loss of your beloved Ken...we pray for his soul and pray to God to give you strength during this difficult time.

Ken was one of the greatest friends I've had. I'm glad I knew him; I will miss him.
