Whitson Funeral Home - Cookeville Chapel Obituary

Funeral services with military honors for Kenneth Gilbert Cook, age 81 of Cookeville, TN, will be held on Monday, September 30, 2024, at 12:00 Noon from the Chapel of Whitson Funeral Home with Bro. Mark Loftis officiating.  Burial with honors will follow at the Smyrna Cemetery in Cookeville.  Visitation with the family will be held on Sunday from 5:00-9:00PM and Monday 7:00AM till time of the service.


Mr. Cook passed away on Wednesday, September 25, 2024, at the Cookeville Regional Medical Center.  Kenneth was born on July 19, 1943, in Detroit, Michigan to the late Gilbert and Litta (Roberts) Cook.  Kenneth served in the United States Navy and worked at TTU with the motor pool.  Mr. Cook attended the Netherland Church of Christ and was also a member of the Horseback Riders Club.


In addition to his parents, Kenneth is preceded in death by his Wife: Nancy Cook and Daughter: Kimberly Cook.


He is Survived by three Children and Spouses: Son: Steven (Kerrie) Cook of Romeo, Michigan; Debra Cook & Partner John Gora of Sterling Heights, MI; and Aprille (Seth Drouillard) Cook of Cookeville, TN. Sister & Brother-In-Law: Judy (Leon) Webb of Garden City, MI.; plus 10 Grandchildren and 17 Great Grandchildren.


Pallbearers will be his family and friends, plus extended family members serving as Honorary Pallbearers.


The family would like to request that in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Smyrna Cemetery Fund or American Heart Association.

We have known Ken many years. Even after retiring he would still call Brad occasionally. He was a good man. Praying for his family and friends.

Ken was a nice guy. He was good to my Aunt Dean and he was always there for us if we needed anything. Rest in Peace.

Ken was a very nice Man. Larry just loved him and the times he was around him. He will be missed visiting his sister Judy at Garden City Church of Christ

We will miss you so much grandpa. I know you’re in heaven looking down on all of us. We love you.

Kenny was a wonderful man. We loved having him as a member here at the YMCA. He always made us laugh. Prayers for his family and all those who loved him.
