Kenneth Allen Deane

Kenneth Allen Deane, 59, of Madison, passed into eternal rest with the Lord on Wednesday, October 21, 2009.

Kenneth was born on August 4, 1950. He grew up near Wolftown in Madison County and graduated from Madison County High School in 1969. Kenneth served his country for a time in the United States Army National Guard, and he served his Lord, his family, friends, and community daily.

Preceding him in death were his mother and father, William Carl Deane and Lavinia Eddins Deane, along with a sister, Harriet Deane DeJarnette.

Kenneth is survived by his wife, Cheryl Haney Deane; daughter, Vicki Deane Manuel and her husband, Stephen Manuel; daughter, Master Sergeant L. Michelle Meza-Romero and her husband, Freddy Meza-Romero; and son, William Deane and his wife, Danielle Rhodes Deane. Kenneth is survived by his seven grandchildren Gregory Weakley, Brian Weakly, Kenneth Weakley, Margaret Weakley, Samantha Amos, Selena Meza-Romero, and Freddy Meza-Romero II. Kenneth is survived by his sister Sandra Deane Fowler and her husband, Chip; his brother, George Deane and his wife, Dianna; his mother--in-law, Irma Harvey Frame; and brother-in-law, Everett R. "Buck" Haney III.

A loving and supportive church family at Fairview Christian Church, where Kenneth served devotedly, also share in his loss. The legacy of Kenneth's love, strength, and kindness will endure forever in the hearts and minds of his family and friends.

Kenneth will be remembered by those who knew him for his hard work and unique sense of humor that touched everyone with whom he came in contact. Kenneth was passionate about his work and enjoyed every moment of the 20 years that he spent operating his excavating service. He was passionate about his family, and he sacrificed selflessly of his strength and energy to provide for them. Kenneth was also passionate about his faith in God and he was very active as a Deacon, Elder, Sunday school teacher, Superintendent of Sunday Schools, Trustee, and Vice-Chairman of the Board at Fairview Christian Church. He was most passionate about interacting with his brothers and sisters in Christ and seeing the smiles on the faces of the children each Sunday morning.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Fairview Christian Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 19, Hood, VA 22723.

The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Friday, October 23, 2009, at the Preddy Funeral Home chapel in Madison.

A memorial service will be held at Fairview Christian Church in Hood 2 p.m. Saturday, October 24, 2009.
