Kenneth C. Degner

Uncle Ken was warm and kind and will truly be missed by anyone who knew him. I have two fond memories about him I'd like to share. I'm the youngest of his five nieces and one year we went out to Tucson to visit with Uncle Ken, Aunt Jean and our cousins. I was pretty young then and to me Uncle Ken seemed really tall and strong. My father-in-law was the most gentle, soft-spoken man I ever met. He was a devoted Lutheran, husband, father, uncle, and grandfather. I was happy that he could live with us and spend so much quality time with his son and only grandchild. He never complained, and he will be sorely missed...

Uncle Ken was my God-Father. He was also my mothers brother. Because of the distance I was never able to get to know him and his woderful family as well as I would have liked to. He came from a loving family with great brothes and sisters and parents. I am sure that the family he was with last( his son daughter-in-law and beautiful grand daughter will miss him tremendously). Ken Degner was one of many Tucsonans who worked loyally at hughes aircraft company earning retirement and the friendship of colleagues and a place in the sun. Most of us will go to our grave with close family and a few friends acknowledging us in prayer and memory. I didn't know Ken personally but feel a bond to him from that common struggle--going to work each day, trying to be productive and still retain a personal life that had other horizons.
