Kenneth F. Downing

Kenneth F. Downing, 77, of Branford died Friday July 15, 2011 at CT Hospice. He was predeceased by his loving wife, Pauline Racette Downing on July 6, 2011. He was born April 2, 1934 in Troy, NY, son of the late Forrest G. and Helen Campbell Downing. He was a mechanic and truck driver by trade, a member of Widow's Sons Lodge and an Eagle Scout. He will be remembered for his sense of humor. His family gives special thanks to his care givers, Eric, Monika and Nina. You were a blessing to our family. He is survived by his children, Kenneth F. Downing, Jr. and his wife Karen J. Downing, and Sharon M. Downing and her fiancé Brian C. Emanuel, all of Branford; Grandsons, Kenneth F. Downing, III and Christopher M. Downing; his sisters, Barbara Downing Fox and her husband Dick of Bar Harbor, ME, Shirley Downing Doherty and her husband Mike of Pickerington, OH, brother and sister-in-law Paul and Barbara Racette of Branford and many nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to a Memorial Mass of Christian Burial, for both Kenneth and Pauline, Thursday morning at 11:00 in St. Mary Church, Branford.
