Lorne and Sons Funeral Home - Delray Beach Obituary

Kenneth W. Gregory, 55, of Delray Beach, Florida, lost his fight with Cancer and passed away quietly, with his family by his side, on Sunday, November 4, 2012. Along with his wife, Colette, he is survived by his four children, Jacqueline (Brad) Slye; Jenat; Meredith (Aaron) Ash; Ward; his grandchildren Dylan Cotner; Landon Slye; his mother Margaret Gregory; his brothers Mark (Dawn) Gregory and David (Donna) Gregory.
Ken was born in Union, SC and moved, with his parents, to Delray Beach at a young age. He attended local schools and graduated from Atlantic Community High School in 1975. In 1980, he married Colette Northrup, in Boynton Beach and began living there lives together and raised a family. He was a loving husband and father.
Ken worked as a postal employee for many years and ventured on to build golf courses and athletic fields. As an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church, in Delray Beach, he was not only an Elder of the church but he also was very involved with the Youth. His love for music never ended, starting with "The Arisers" and continuing to play trumpet for church services. Because of his involvement in the community, Ken has touched so many lives, and because of that we can say our lives have been blessed.
Friends may call on Friday, November 16, 2012, from 6PM to 9PM at LORNE & SONS FUNERAL HOME, 745 NE 6th Ave. ( N. Fed. Hwy.) Delray Beach, FL. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 17, 2012, 11AM at Trinity Lutheran Church, 400 N. Swinton Avenue, Delray Beach, FL 33444. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to "Ken Gregory's Funds for Youth", at Trinity Lutheran Church. Friends may share condolences and sign the on-line register book at www.LorneandSons.com

Dear Colette and family,
Although it has been many years since i lived in South Florida, my memories of times together with Ken aka "Fergie" will last forever. We had so many fun times working at Pantry Pride and just being teenagers. His spirit was always positive and his heart was always generous. i hope each of you find comfort in knowing that Ken is resting at peace with the Lord.
My deepest sympathy.
