Not sure what to say?

Ken was my very first trombone teacher, way back in the mid-1960s at the Peabody Prep in Baltimore. He was a natural teacher, excellent musician and a genuinely nice man. His encouragement and patience were so important to me at that young age...I feel privileged to have known him.

Professor Hanlon was one of my favorite instructors when I was an undergraduate in jazz vocals. He was so kind, always a smile, and always made time to explain something that I was having trouble with. He was also nice enough to serve as a reference for me as I continued my education. I hadn't seen him in awhile and was thinking of him, so I looked him up and received the sad news. Heartfelt condolences to the Hanlon family.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Ken's family during this difficult time.

I will miss my Uncle Ken vey much, I knew he was very accomplished but to see that many people at his memorial talking about what he meant to them and their careers, amazing. Always thought every time him and I talked about the O's that if he was their GM, he would have at the top every year.

My condolences to Ken's family. I worked with Ken at UNLV when he was Associate Provost. He was a tireless advocate for the institution, a professional and a gentleman. Our collaboration was always productive and is a testament to his personal leadership. I will miss him.

To Carrie and Ken's Family and Grandchildren.
He was a very special man and will be missed. We celebrated many Holidays with you and Carrie.

Ken Hanlon was one of the great characters in UNLV history, and a wonderful friend to so many of us that he worked and performed with. He helped bring our School of Music to prominence, worked skillfully to manage University academic budgets during the Nineties recession years, and was one heckuva great musician on top of it all. Ken was a lifelong baseball fan, and if there's any justice in this world the Baltimore Orioles will win the American League pennant in tribute to die-hard fans like...
