Not sure what to say?

Even after all this time you still have a place in my heart good sir. I told my kids about you today while we were listening to some Megadeth. Made me look this page up again so I could show them your pictures. So long ago yet feels like it wasn't at the same time. Anywho, I'm blathering on. Miss you my friend. I think you'll always be there in my memory until I'm too old to remember what memories even are.

It's been one year, and all still feels like the day I was awoken and told that my brother passed.

Nothing gets easier. Nothing is the same. Nothing is normal.

Not one day goes by that we don't think or talk about Ken. What are you supposed to do when you lose your child/sibling? You want the whole world to just stop, yet you are expected to continue your days as though everything is fine. Nothing is fine. There are so many things that we'll never be able to experience with...

Even a year later...it just doesn't get easier...

Be Still

Be still like the grass on a melancholy summer day
Be still like desert shrub.

Be calm and you will hear your loved one speak, in the stillness, in the calm, their love resounds.

If you are still this promise I make, you will hear the voice of your loved one helping you along your way.

I will miss my dear grandson. His life was cut short, too short. I will remember the sleepovers and our little trips to McDonalds together. I know that one day God promises that there will be a new Jerusalem here on earth.
