I first met Ken at the Nebraska state tournament in 1984. He was amazing to watch. He was a true competitor. Off the field he was sincere and kind. Playing and talking softball is where his passion was. He was so interesting to talk to. So knowledgable. He truly helped me whenever he could. His pitching style was certainly ahead of its time. Spent a summer playing softball with Ken I. 1995 with Broken Bow, Nebraska. We had a great time that year and finished 5th at the World tournament in Sioux City, Iowa. Shared many a laugh with Ken and a few beers and had played against him prior to that year whilst he pitched for Doc at Broken Bow. I had the opportunity to umpire for many of Ken's games at the Platt Deutsche in Grand Island from 1986-1993. He was truly a world class pitcher but always a better guy off the field. He will be missed!
