Not sure what to say?

Mr. Holton was a wonderful choral director and teacher. I had him for chorus and chorus lab for my entire 4 years as a student at EO Smith. He was kind, talented, and committed and somehow got us rogues to pull it all together. The music we sang changed my life and brought great joy to me as a young adolescent and was never forgotten as an adult. It wasn´t just singing, it was a musical education. I shall never forget him. Our exchange concerts were memorable. I loved all of it. RIP Mr....

I was fortunate to work with Ken one year (1973--74) at the E.O. Smith School while covering for George Masso, his colleague, who was on sabbatical. Ken was so very supportive of me that year and we were able to do some fine programs together. Also, Ken soloed with both the UCONN Orchestra and the Manchester Civic Orchestra in which I played trumpet and I admired his fine singing talent. He and his wife Prudence were kind to my wife, Beatrice and me in our first year or marriage, too. I am...

I was a student of Mr. Holton's. I am Jim Freudenstein. He helped me immeasurably with All-State, All-Eastern choirs, Madrigals and other small groups. He even gave of his time for some singing lessons. He was a great blessing to me personally. God bless you!

He was so passionate and patient with all of us. He was a lovely man. He had a huge impact on all of us.

I can see Mr Holton now, turning his whole face and body expectantly - on an inhale - to the tenors in the madrigal group, watching and listening for the right entrance, rhythm, tone... repeating a phrase until we got it right. Sometimes he conducted us like a driver with a well-oiled, expensive car; other times he pulled us like a plow through hard earth, but he never gave up. He was a tireless educator, and god knows how many hours he spent beyond the schoolday to plan and execute such a...

I am truly sorry to learn of Mr. Holton's passing. He was one of a handful of teachers who had the greatest impact on my life growing up in Storrs. As our E.O. Smith chorale director, Mr. Holton was inspiring and allowed me to discover my voice and gain confidence as a performer and writer. Working with him in "Guys and Dolls" was a highlight as well. His commitment and dedication to his students was unparalleled, and he positively impacted countless people, including my father, Rabbi H....

I remember Mr.Holton fondly at EOSmith 1968-1971 Betty Brown Tucker

Wonderful teacher amd musician. Thank you, Mr. Holton.

Such a lovely man; so very generous with his time and his knowledge. He enriched my life in a multitude of ways.
